Normal Work Hours and Days:  Normal work schedules are 12-hour days, up to seven days a week. Days and hours vary based on project schedules, locations and workload. Mandatory overtime based on seasonal workload and remote work settings.

The Dispatcher is responsible for prioritizing and coordinating all inbound/outbound transportation activities. The Dispatcher also ensures that standards of performance, contractual requirements and customer needs are met or exceeded in the course of daily operations.
Essential Functions:
  • Coordinating, scheduling and communicating information to crew and field personnel, as well as organizing and tracking relevant information according to customer demands.
  • Purchase NDHP, County, and other state permits as needed for drivers.
  • Keep dispatch records/logs and status reports.
  • Plan and organize appropriate work time and resource requirements.
  • Answer customer calls and coordinate customer requests.
  • Schedule all deliveries/pick ups and notify customers of arrival schedules.
  • Maintain correct files for DOT regulations and Insurance compliance.
  • Manage company drivers and fleet of tractor/trailers and equipment.
  • Keep time cards distributed and tallied, distribute all truck books, collect all pre-trip/post trip reports and refer any irregularities to proper management for handing.
  • Assist in other activities/duties as assigned by Operations Manager as needed.
Other Tasks:
  • Performs other related duties, as assigned.

Qualifications: To perform this job successfully, an individual must be able to perform each essential function and preferably able to perform other tasks satisfactorily.  The requirements listed below are representative of the knowledge, skill and/or ability required. 
Education and/or Experience:
  • High school diploma or equivalent
  • One year oilfield/construction related work experience
  • OSHA 10hr. Training
  • Previous dispatching experience
Skills, Knowledge and Abilities:
  • Ability to see and record written data and information.
  • Knowledge of DOT regulations and compliance.
  • Ability to communicate information in writing so others will understand.
  • Ability to effectively understand and communicate verbally with others.
  • Ability to understand and follow written and verbal instructions.
  • Ability to work independently with little supervision.
  • Ability to ensure that proper safety and incident reporting procedures are followed.
  • Ability to meet project schedule with dependability and consistency.
  • Ability to wear protective clothing.
