The Screen Plant Operator position is responsible for the effective management and safe operation of a screen plant while maximizing material production and minimizing plant interruptions and/or breakdowns, Operate heavy equipment, Heavy equipment may include front-end loaders, excavator, dozers, helps with the set up and take down of the Screen Plant, help coordinate the daily screening activities. The position may assist other craft workers.

Essential Functions:
  • Performs a variety of tasks involving strenuous manual labor in mining/heavy construction projects.
  • Operate all machinery involved in the Screening process
  • Operate in a production mode, maintaining established Safety and efficiencies
  • Monitor equipment and systems to insure proper operation and aggregate is with in specification
  • Perform general maintenance, minor repairs and regular service on crushing and screening equipment daily
  • Perform proper workplace examinations to minimize safety hazards and identify mechanical issues
  • Inspect plant for worn and broken parts
  • Assist in major mechanical work or any other type of work being performed.
  • Keep proper records and daily production schedules for submitting reports on production and maintenance.
  • Monitor and discuss production problems with co-workers and managers/supervisors.
  • Dispose of garbage according to set policies and procedures of the site
  • Use hand-held mobile radio units to coordinate tasks and resources.
  • Comply with Company and customer policies and procedures
  • Ensure adherence to safe work practices and procedures.
  • Help identify hazardous conditions on the job site.
  • Report any damage immediately to supervisor
  • Perform other related duties as required.
Supervisory Responsibilities: None.

Education and/or Experience:
  • High School Diploma or GED
  • Minimum 3 years’ experience as a screen plant operator on remote construction sites
  • MSHA certification
Skills, Knowledge and Abilities:
  • Ability to perform physical activities that require considerable use of your arms and legs and moving your whole body, such as climbing, lifting, balancing, walking, stooping, and handling of materials.
  • Must have general mechanical skills
  • Ability to work with mathematical concepts and to apply concepts to practical situations
  • Ability to read, understand and implement project plans and documents
  • Ability to communicate information in writing so others will understand.
  • Ability to effectively understand and communicate verbally with others.
  • Ability to understand and follow written and verbal instructions.
  • Ability to work independently or as a team member successfully
  • Ability to ensure that proper safety and incident reporting procedures are followed.
  • Ability to meet project schedule with dependability and consistency.
  • Ability to wear protective clothing
