Normal Work Hours and Days:  Normal work schedules are 10-hour days, 6 days a week. Days and hours vary based on project schedules, locations and workload. Mandatory overtime based on seasonal workload and remote work settings.

Summary:
The Project Engineer Intern Position is responsible for assisting the Project Manager with planning and assessing construction project activities in compliance with project specifications along with preparing and submitting daily reports, schedules, RFI’s, submittals, quantity take offs, and other reporting.

Essential Functions:
  • Read and review project drawings and specifications
  • Assist PM with work plans
  • Estimate quantities and cost of materials
  • Document project activities and data, as required
  • Compile Daily/Weekly reports for AAP use, and as needed from the Client.
  • Follow Directions
  • Ask questions
Supervisory Responsibilities:  None

Qualifications:
To perform this job successfully, an individual must be able to perform each essential function and preferably able to perform other tasks satisfactorily.  The requirements listed below are representative of the knowledge, skill and/or ability required. 

Education and/or Experience:
Minimum:
  • High school diploma or equivalent
  • Currently enrolled in college for engineering degree or construction management
  • Drivers License
Preferred:
  • One or two year's construction-related field experience
  • Experience with Primavera P6 scheduling software
  • Experience with AutoCAD or similar software
Skills, Knowledge and Abilities:
  • Microsoft office (excel, word)
  • Proficient writing skills
  • Adobe acrobat
  • Hard working and eager to listen and learn
