Normal Work Hours and Days:  Regular office hours are 7:00AM to 5:00PM Monday through Saturday.

Summary:
Oversee day-to-day activities of the Equipment Division facility and personnel, to include the maintenance, repair and inventory of equipment, machines and tools used on construction projects.  Develops protocols and procedures for implementation into Company operations.

Essential Functions:
  • Maintain and/or oversee documentation of facility equipment and machine repairs, services, adjustments and work performed. 
  • Tracking and filing equipment repair notes.
  • Ensure that proper safety, compliance, inventory, maintenance and reporting procedures are followed, bring problems to the attention of the President.
  • Directly supervise and monitor the performance of subordinate employees and provide technical support and mentoring as needed.
  • As required, assist with the work of subordinate employees at various job sites.
  • Management of all equipment failures, damages, and servicing; manifesting; Equipment Cost Control.
  • Evaluate incoming equipment and machines and diagnose defects.
  • Oversee the assembling and/or disassembly of various types of equipment or machines as well as the acquiring of the necessary parts to repair them.
  • Review and verify employee time sheets in conjunction with Master Mechanics for submittal to payroll on specified days. Ensure that hours are assigned properly.
  • Advise Master Mechanics on purchasing needs, recommendations and required approvals, as appropriate.
Other Tasks:
  • Answer phone and relay messages when needed.
  • Conduct business errands requiring driving, i.e., bank deposits, etc.
  • Performs other duties as assigned.
Supervisory Responsibilities:
Directly supervise and monitor the performance of the Master Mechanics, Shop Foremen, and employees and provide technical support and mentoring as needed

Qualifications:
To perform this job successfully, an individual must be able to perform each essential function and preferably can also perform other tasks satisfactorily.  The requirements listed below are representative of the knowledge, skill and/or ability required. 

Education and/or Experience:
Minimum:
  • Familiar with general accounting principals
  • Some college or vocational training in business or accounting and/or one year of job related accounting experience
Preferred:
  • Two years clerical/financial record keeping work experience, including accounts receivable.
  • Two years of college course work in business, accounting or a related field.
  • MSHA certification
Skills, Knowledge and Abilities:
  • Knowledge of basic accounting principles and practices.
  • Knowledge of construction contract principles and practices.
  • Knowledge of office protocol and the ability to effectively work as a member of a team.
  • Knowledge of and ability to use computer hardware, electronic data base management and related software.
  • Ability to work with written and computerized data.
  • Ability to accurately perform mathematical computations.
  • Ability to communicate information in writing so others will understand.
  • Ability to effectively understand and communicate verbally with others.
  • Ability to work well with others and able to prioritize workloads and flexible enough to change gears when needed.
  • Knowledge of and ability to use various construction equipment and tools.
  • Ability to read and follow assembly and instruction manuals.
  • Knowledge of and ability to read blueprints and schematics.
  • Knowledge of and ability repair equipment and follow related procedures.
  • Ability to assess and troubleshoot equipment failure.
  • Knowledge of and ability to apply first aid and applicable safety precautions.
  • Ability to effectively understand and communicate verbally and in writing with others.
  • Ability to understand and follow written and verbal instructions.
  • Ability to ensure that proper safety and incident reporting procedures are followed.
  • Ability to perform a variety of tasks involving strenuous manual labor.
  • Ability to meet equipment schedule with dependability and consistency.
  • Ability to wear protective clothing.
