Summary:
The Liner Technician performs tasks involving physical labor at heavy construction projects.  The position is to be part of an installation (construction) team that will work together to install HDPE liner. Which may operate a variety of hand and power tools, may clean and prepare sites, clean up rubble and debris, and remove waste materials. The position may assist other craft workers.

Essential Functions:
  • Performs a variety of tasks involving strenuous manual labor in mining/heavy construction projects
  • Operate light machinery and equipment/hand tools as required in a safe and efficient way.
  • Performs daily safety and maintenance checks of tools and work area
  • Preform Liner Deployment in accordance with company and project specifications
  • Preform Welding Operation of HDPE Liner in accordance with company and project specifications
  • Document installation process on job site, in accordance with company and project specifications
  • Perform QC testing: Non-destructive testing of welded seams, primarily, but not limited to air test, vacuum test, air lance and spark test.
  • Document the results of the testing, calculate and document total area of installed material on a daily basis, and liner footage of seaming, indicating the individual and location of the performed test in accordance with company and project specifications.
  • Deliver accurate and consistent results and exceed customer's expectations by meeting or beating deadlines set by the customer.
  • Maintains a clean job site: picks up all tools and equipment and secures job site each day to eliminate potential hazards.
  • Dispose of garbage according to set policies and procedures
  • Use hand-held mobile radio units to coordinate tasks and resources.
  • Comply with Company and customer policies and procedures
  • Ensure adherence to safe work practices and procedures.
  • Help identify hazardous conditions on the job site.
  • Report any damage immediately to supervisor
  • Perform other related duties as required.

Qualifications:
To perform this job successfully, an individual must be able to perform each essential function and preferably able to perform other tasks satisfactorily.  The requirements listed below are representative of the knowledge, skill and/or ability required. 

Education and/or Experience:
Minimum:
  • A valid driver license
  • High School Diploma or GED
  • Three or more years’ experience in similar role on remote construction site
  • Possess good organizational and communication skills
Preferred:
  • MSHA certification
  • Strong experience using extrusion and wedge welding procedures
  • Completed a minimum of 93,000 square meters of geomembrane seaming
Skills, Knowledge and Abilities:
  • Knowledge of and ability to read and follow plans, specifications, sketches and Grade/mapping control.
  • knowledge of safe operation of basic hand and power tools
  • Knowledge of workplace safety and safe lifting and handling procedures.
  • Knowledge of and ability maintain equipment and follow related procedures
  • Ability to perform a variety of tasks involving strenuous manual labor
  • Ability to see and record written data and information.
