Summary: Administers policies relating to all phases of human resources activity by performing the following duties/tasks.
Essential Functions:
  • Maintains knowledge of legal requirements and government reporting regulations affecting human resources functions and ensures policies, procedures, and reporting are in compliance.
  • Recruits, interviews, tests, and assists managers in selecting employees to fill vacant positions.
  • Plans and conducts new employee orientation to foster positive attitude toward company goals.
  • Keeps records of benefits plans participation such as insurance and pension plan, personnel transactions such as hires, promotions, transfers, performance reviews, and terminations, and employee statistics for government reporting.
  • Trains management in interviewing, hiring, terminations, promotions, performance review, safety, and sexual harassment with our HR Consultant.
  • Advises management in appropriate resolution of employee relations issues with our HR Consultant.
  • Responds to inquiries regarding policies, procedures, and programs.
  • Administers benefits programs such as life, health, dental and disability insurances, pension plans, leave of absence, and employee assistance.  
  • Prepares employee separation notices and related documentation, and conducts exit interviews to determine reasons behind separations.
  • Responsible for maintaining all recruitment files.
  • Maintains all DOT driver files and ensures they are in compliance at all times.
  • Reports new hires to CSSD monthly.
  • Maintains random drug testing rosters for all companies and updates on a quarterly basis.
  • Responsible for EEO annual dissemination letters.
  • DER – Designated Employer Representative for all drug testing.
Other Tasks:
  • Answer phone/Emails.
  • Perform other duties, as assigned.

Education and/or Experience:                                                   
High school diploma or equivalent with some college or technical school coursework preferred and minimum of three (3) years of job-related experience, preferably in a human resources department, technical experience, including responsibility for maintaining computer systems or any equivalent combination of education and experience.
