Summary:
Duties will include, but not limited to, assisting in dispatching, routing, scheduling, and planning upcoming projects. The Permit Specialist will be responsible for providing administrative office support to include answering phones, data entry, and the organization of purchasing permits for DOT drivers.

Essential Functions:
  • Assist Dispatch in compiling, analyzing, organizing load lists with size, weight and dimensions of trucks.
  • Assist with building maps to showcase road restrictions, well locations, truck weight
  • Ensure effective communication with drivers concerning loading and delivery status.
  • Maintain communication regarding any changes in product pick-up & delivery schedules and potential service issues.
  • Pulling permits from County and State websites
  • Assist with scheduling upcoming projects
  • Assist with scheduling subcontractors/leasers
  • Create and dispatch trucking routes that are efficient and meet customer scheduling needs
  • Adjust to last minute changes in scheduling and communicate effectively with drivers and customer

Qualifications: To perform this job successfully, an individual must be able to perform each essential function and preferably can also perform other tasks satisfactorily.  The requirements listed below are representative of the knowledge, skill and/or ability required. 
 
Education and/or Experience:
Minimum:
  • Must possess a valid state driver license.
Preferred:
  • Previous experience in Dispatch or trucking industry 
Skills, Knowledge and Abilities:
  • Advance proficiency in Microsoft Excel, Word, and PowerPoint
  • Must have a working knowledge of Excel spreadsheets
  • Knowledge of Google Maps, Rig Maps, Well Finder, Petro Path
  • Knowledge of DOT laws and regulations to insure driver compliance
  • Knowledge of GVW's, state regulations regarding height and weight maximums
  • Ability to handle high stress situations
  • Ability to understand and effectively communicate verbally with others.
  • Ability to understand and follow written and verbal instructions.
  • Ability to work with minimal supervision and exercise good judgment in prioritizing and
   carrying out duties.
  • Ability to wear protective clothing, as needed on project sites.
